Soltilo Bright Stars defeated Blacks Power 3-1 on Friday in Kavumba, with Dennis Omony Kaka stealing the show.
The left back scored twice on the day, both of which were free kicks, for a total of two goals.
Sam Ssenyonjo, a substitute, scored the other goal for Soltilo Bright Stars, and Robert Eseru scored the visitors’ consolation.
At the halfway point, a well-curled free kick by Omony started the scoring. Eseru’s goal gave Blacks Power hope of a comeback as he tied the score at 60 minutes.
The hopes were short-lived, however, as Omony scored once more from a free kick four minutes later.
Ssenyonjo, who had come on to replace Noordin Bunjo in the 80th minute, put the game beyond doubt in extra time.
This victory moves us up to sixth place on 24 points on the 16 team log. The next fixture is a Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16 match against Kiyinda Boys on the 14th of March.
