Soltilo Bright Stars FC is proud to announce that one of our promising talents, Shamuran Kamya, has been summoned to represent Uganda in the upcoming All Africa Games as part of the U20 Men’s National Team. Head Coach Morley Byekwaso Ochama has selected Shamuran Kamya as part of a provisional squad of 39 players who will undergo rigorous preparations for the prestigious tournament. The squad will commence their training this week, convening initially at FUFA House before transitioning to the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru for an intensive residential camp.
Shamuran’s inclusion in the national team squad is a testament to his dedication, skill, and outstanding performances on the field. Having recently made his debut appearance for Soltilo Bright Stars FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 match against Odramacaku FC in Arua, Shamuran has already begun to showcase his talent at the club level.
As a goalkeeper, Shamuran Kamya brings a formidable presence and remarkable agility between the posts. His exceptional reflexes and ability to command the penalty area have caught the attention of national selectors, earning him this well-deserved call-up to represent his country on the continental stage.
The All Africa Games present an invaluable opportunity for Shamuran to further hone his skills and gain invaluable experience competing against top-level opposition. Uganda finds itself placed in Group B alongside formidable opponents such as Nigeria, South Sudan, Senegal, and Tunisia, promising challenging encounters that will undoubtedly test the mettle of the team.
Scheduled to take place from the 7th to the 24th of March 2024 in Accra, Ghana, the All Africa Games offer Shamuran Kamya and his teammates a platform to showcase their talent on a grand stage while vying for continental glory.
